It's not an immediate oh. Robby sees the photo frame first in its off state, then reads the note accompanying it, confused initially, before he takes another look at the frame. Then he realises what it is, one of those fancy things that he's never had a second thought about; and it even takes him actually looking the thing over to understand it's not your every day photo frame to get that far.
But pressing a button, and looking down at what appears, that oh hits him in the same instance as he lays his eyes on the scene taking place: on a certain woman pictured, looking comfortable, content enough. He can't pinpoint when it might've been taken, but also, Robby doesn't actually care.
He just sits there with the photo frame on his lap, staring down at it with a dampening vision. One that blurs more, when he remembers the note.
And he spends a good time with that photo, even when he isn't directly looking at it. Time that he doesn't interrupt with much else, and why he doesn't send Mister LaRusso a text until later on, closer to night. ]
thank you for the gift, mr larusso. i'll treasure it.
[ And sure enough, it'll be visible inside Robby's apartment on a cupboard surface, seen clearly from the couch, whenever Daniel visits. ]
