He moves over towards the sofa, sitting down in a way that he's leaving space for Robby to sit down near his notes. When said boy comes back with the drinks, he'll take his own with a smile and a small 'thanks,' before taking a sip and putting the cup on the coffee table.
.. with a coaster underneath it, of course. If Robby didn't get them himself, Daniel would have bought them for him, okay. You need to keep your furniture neat, Robby, this is the #1 dad lesson!!! ]
It's kind of about a serious topic. [ The effect of that statement might be lessened a little bit by the dog that is now also returning from the kitchen after having followed Robby, considering it's trying to take up all free real estate here - half resting on the sofa, and half on Daniel's lap, like it isn't way too big for something like that.
