[ Daniel didn't tell Robby that he went back to the Science Discovery Center. Maybe the events of what transpired there the other month were too raw - maybe Daniel was worried something might happen when he'd enter that building again, despite the effects on these new places usually disappearing after the month is over. And he does figure people have probably already looked through that entire place, but.. it was the place that seemed to hold the most information on this place so far. Daniel, desperate at this point, had to do something other than just running the diner. He has to find some solution to all of this. Some scrap of information that might make all of this make sense in a way that doesn't just feel like despair, but also like hope.

It's how he ends up with the report. It's the last thing Daniel expected to find there, but.. he did. Right there in that cabinet. With Robby's name on it.

He couldn't even read it on the spot. He had to take it back to his apartment, reading it, looking it over. Feeling.. a myriad of emotions, really. So many different ones. There's too many things in the file that give him pause, that give him thoughts.

So he doesn't let Robby know. Not right away. Even if he surely sees the boy in the meantime, he doesn't tell him, keeping it all to himself.

It's only days later that he sends the boy the message. Late at night - not past bedtime, really, but late enough that it's the time Daniel usually closes up the diner to go home. ]

Can you come to the diner?

I have something important to show you.

[ Daniel is in the front - sitting at one of the tables, two mugs already on the table. One filled with Daniel's usual, the other with Robby's usual - if anyone would know the latter, it's Daniel, after all.

It's not the only thing on the table though. Lying on it between the two mugs is something else - something that looks like a bunch of papers stapled together.

Truthfully.. Daniel had thought a lot about how to show this to Robby. There are plenty of things he felt like he maybe should redact. The parts about him, for one, because his head is still spiralling a little bit with what was written about the relationship between him and Robby. Or maybe the parts about the father wound.. Daniel knows Robby enough to know the teen wouldn't exactly appreciate being psychologically analysed by the city, let alone when it comes to that of all things.

But in the end honesty felt like the best option. Especially when all of this might somehow be revealed in the end anyway - and Daniel doesn't want to be someone who hides things from Robby. He wants to be someone the boy can rely on.

Surrogate father figure. God, he keeps thinking about it..

... ]

Hey, Robby. Thanks for coming. [ He gives Robby a slight smile when the other approaches or moves to sit down, but there's something a little tight about it. Robby probably recognizes it well enough at this point to be able to tell there's something a little tense in it. ]

I, uh.. I found this. And I thought it's important that you're able to read it too.

[ He's not touching the papers in any way. Robby is free to grab them to read, or to just lean over to look. ]
