[OOC/THE CITY]

Hello again, everyone! I'm coming to you once more, this time with Tsuruno Yui ([personal profile] fantheflames)'s player Kia, about an IC experiment Robby and Tsuruno will be bringing up to the residents of the city to participate in.

Imagine: What if we didn't go to whatever the city has planned this month, and have our own Halloween Party with blackjack and hookers?

→ Background
With the newsletter's arrival this month and the report of an experiment that took place during October in....a year, the two conspired to see what would happen--if anything--if they encouraged people to come to a resident-run Halloween party instead of a city-run one (or whatever it has planned). A date wasn't announced, but the report of a university-run test took place from the 19th to the 31st of October, and so they want to have one ready to go.

And they want to invite everyone to come to it instead of to whatever happens this month, in the name of their own experiment: To Fuck Around And Find Out.
→ Why?
Essentially, they'll explain--through speaking to people, posting letters everywhere, and also holding a meeting to see the interest in this idea--that this will be to see how the city reacts. Will it do nothing? Will it do something? Will people be forced to go to locations? Or will it be a waste of planning because they'll have no choice in the matter?

But as many of the tests that seem to await them involve residents going to a location, and with the very real feeling they're being studied for their reactions, who knows how active the city will be into forcing them into getting involved?
→ The Result
There will be consequences for this, though at this time, we can't reveal the details of what will happen. However, we can share that:

    • Going to the Resident Party will not stop characters getting involved in the game event!
    • It can even encourage characters to get involved in this month's event at different levels, even if they wouldn't have participated in the game event!
    • It can have other effects on the characters, also, while staying at the party!
Players will have a choice to mess around with effects, and a character's intentions (if they intend to only go to the resident party and not participate in this month's event) will also matter.
→ Announcements
We plan to put up a log around the 14th to 15th* that will include fliers being posted out, as well as a chance for characters to come together to talk about their plan, whether one-on-one (or two-on-one?) or in a group get together.

However, as this plan was made earlier in the month, it's fine for characters to have received the following flier where they live, or to be approached by one of the pair. Character-run businesses would have been approached to put up the fliers in their establishments -- threads can be discussed or played out as any business owner likes!

    The flier reads as such:
    PLEASE READ!
A group of us want to hold an experiment on how the city will react if we don't go to a new location immediately or any event it runs, and the newsletter they gave out mentioned a Halloween party. The report in the office also mentioned a test running from the 19th to 31st of October.

What happens if we run our own party in this timeframe? What happens if we don't take part in their experiments? We should test how they react.

Don't talk about this on the network. Come to the Welcome Diner if you want to find out more. We want to hold a meeting with everyone about this plan on the [date] at [location].

Let's see how willing they are to act.
Going to the Welcome Diner to ask about the flier will give them the chance to speak to either Robby Keene or Tsuruno Yui about the plan.

When the plotting post for the game event goes up, we'll share more information about the party and what will happen, and what can potentially happen to your characters!

*This may just be an OOC date so that newbies can take part in the log!
